I've been wanting to go to this restauratn ever since I've heard about it for more than 6 months ago. for some strange reason I've never quite got round to going there!! The original branch is located in Tsim Sha Tsui (Hanoi Road) but I found out earlier this week that they've opened a new branch in MongKok.

So what does a food loving girl do? She wakes up on a sunny morning and persuaded her whole family to take a taxi and headed there for lunch! Yaay~

So here we go again~ my order was as follows:

Iced Mocha tasted weak and lacking extremely in flavours.
Hot Coffee tasted normal, good thing is that it is unlimited refilled. ($18)

Blackened Shrimps and Scallop Salad in Seaweed Vinaigrette Dressing ($138)

The size of the salad bowl as equivalent to a mini wash basin filled with seafood, fresh greens and a piece of warm sliced cake was laid at the top (tasted of cinnamon, slight caramel taste and with walnut)!! It definitely can feed 6 girls as appetizer. The shrimps were fresh, but it was so heavily covered in Cajun powder that you can hardly taste it even if it wasn’t fresh. There were two massive pan-seared scallops, the smaller one was approx. 3cm diameter wide and it was cooked to perfection - succulent and moist! The seaweed vinaigrette was not notable and was weakly acidic. Personally, I’d haven preferred a tangy, lemony vinaigrette but it’s always good to try something different.

Buffalo Wing with Blue Cheese Dip:

The wings were covered in chilli sauce and didn’t really taste anything else other than that which was blend. The blue cheese dip was creamy but didn’t taste strong enough of the distinctive taste of the cheese. I am guessing the restaurant especially chose a weaker tasting blue cheese to match the taste of the mass population. I guess I just fell out of that category this time so I was a little disappointed. Not a bad tasting dish though, just didn’t do enough to impress that’s all.

Spaghetti Cabonara:

This has to be the best carbonara I’ve ever tasted with no exaggeration. The amount of sauce was just right, with just enough sauce on every single 'al dente' spaghetti. The bacon was slightly fatty, with strong aroma but not overly salty. With a little pinched of black pepper, this dish wakes every single taste buds! I’m not usually a big sucker for Carbonara, but I must say, as we speak right now, I’m already missing it! Oh, the garlic bread was alright…but with a carbonara like this, it was as if it’s just there like you know - a stalk of parsley!

Applegreen Crisp:

Growing up and living in UK over a decade have definitely instilled alot of Britishness in me. For example, I can proudly declare that I grew up on all sort of fruit crumble and hot custard! I can also scrub up a pretty good crumble myself, and I guess that's a skill that is not so hard to acquired. This crumble tasted far from what I know and grew up with. The actual crumble was too powdery like and lacking in crunch and taste of butter. The apple was not cooked through properly and there wasn't enough juice. I'm almost disgusted to know that this is their "signature dish". Come on love, go google for Jamie's or Delia's recipe, let the great show you how it is truely done!! An extra score went to the ice-cream though, it tasted like raspberry sorbet but it was icecream. Sorry about the portion though! If this was a good enough crumble, even serving it with double cream would taste wonderful enough.

Crème Brulee:

This only cost $38~~ It's such good bargain for the quality and quantity. Though I would say it is not the best creme brulee I've ever tasted. The caramel glazed was just right (okay, bit burnt), it's not too thick or thin and very crispy! The consistency of the creme brulee was good not too runny and it didn't taste like steamed egg neither. It was just perfect! However, I usually prefer mine to taste of vanilla, preferably with some vanilla pod in it...haahaa~ they might have to set it to a higher price point if they follow my recipe but I would definitely pay more for that!

Peanut Butter & Banana Turnover ($48):

Doesn't this little darling looks like a piece of art? Check out the sliced banana, it's been caramelized!!! The little crispy parcel of filo pastry is wrapped with warm chocolate-peanut butter banana filling. If I just come to this restaurant for this dessert along, I am predicting I can down 3 plates of this~ I'd love to learn to make this but I'd definitely but ready-made filo pastry and not dreaming to make my own.

This restaurant offers a large selection of salad as well as make your own "salad cart" where you have a piece of printed paper with boxes you can tick for greens, toppings, dressing in half or full portion. They also offer enough dishes for vegetarian which I give credit to! Unfortunately, I had no room to fit any of the main courses of steak, salmon or chicken in and thus couldn't write about them. They also offer a wide selection in drinks from beer, coffee to smoothies! They have 7 dishes of dessert on the menu and which I've tried 3. I'll definitely return to this place and would recommend any of my friends to try out there. The service was good in the sense where waitresses would keep refilling water to your glass without having to ask, they'd say the name of each dish when serving and is pretty vigilant in checking your table to see if they should offer you a new plate or take away any finished dishes. With a lavish lunch for four on a lazy Sunday, this meal costed around $660 (Approx. GBP45).

SA, the peanut butter, chocolate and banana dessert looks very nice. Even before you finished the post, I could tell that this one won your heart. I would like to try that one day.
